NDS-2017 Conference Report

3rd Neurological Disorders Summit ( NDS-2017) organized by United Scientific Group concluded successfully on July 08, 2017 at Crowne Plaza Hotel, San Francisco, USA.

We thank all the participants of NDS-2017 for trusting us and contributing to a global platform where important aspects of various neurological disorders were discussed. The conference was marked with the attendance of young and brilliant researchers, business delegates and talented student communities representing more than 30 countries, who have driven this event into the path of success.

The summit inaugurated on July 06, 2017 in the golden gate city, San Francisco, USA by the Organizing Committee chairmen; Dr. Rajendra Badgaiyan and Dr. Kenneth Blum. The three day summit was divided into different sessions of keynote, oral and poster presentations which brought together an interdisciplinary group of professionals working on neurological disorders.

Dr. Kenneth Blum (Co-Chairman of NDS-2017), Wright State University, USA delivered the first keynote lecture of NDS-2017 on “Customized DNA (Precision Medicine) Directed Nutrition to Balance the Brain Reward Circuitry and Reduce Addictive Behaviors”. Dr. Blum discussed about different products that reduce cravings and addiction by influencing gene expression. It was then followed by keynote lecture of Dr. Howard J Federoff on “Plasma Metabolomic Profiles and Cognitive Function” in which he spoke about the implications of plasma metabolomic signature with regard to cognitive function and potential implications for dementia. Dr. Zang-Hee Cho who developed world’s first circular ring PET presented on “Advances in Neuroimaging and Its Applications: From PET/MRI Fusion Imaging to Super-Resolution”. Dr. Michael Merzenich, a pioneer in neuroplasticity gave the keynote lecture on “Brain Plasticity and Brain Health”.

Post lunch, day one continued with a session on "Neurological Disorders: Symptomatology, Pathophysiology, and Etiology" and "Diagnostics of Neurological Disorders: Neuroimaging, Biomarkers and Laboratory studies" which was well appreciated by all the participants of the conference. The discussions then moved on to "Parkinson Disease and other Movement Disorders”, “Neuromuscular Disorders and Peripheral Neuropathies" and "Neurological Disorders: Prevention, Treatment, and Rehabilitation" with 20 speakers.

Day 2 started with the keynote of Dr. John M Baumann, an internationally-recognized inspiring success speaker diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease at the age of 41. In his keynote, Dr. Baumann encouraged medical personnel to go beyond the clinical role and provide a broader perspective on the effects of Parkinson’s disease. Dr. Rajendra Badgaiyan from Wright State University, USA and Dr. Jin Jun Luo from Temple University, USA gave the keynote on “Dopaminergic Processing of Human Cognition and Behavior: What We Learned from the Data Acquired in the Live Human Brain in Real Time” and “Elevated Plasma Homocysteine and Neurologic Disorders” respectively. The second day hosted a series of interesting talks in different sessions on "Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disorders", "Stroke Management Prevention, Treatment, and Recovery" and "Neurotrauma, Neuroinflammation, and Neuro-immune Disease". The day ended by the poster presentation session with presenters from across the globe. Mr. Samuel Shin, Ms. Sampada Sinha, Dr. Nobuyuki Kuramoto and Ms. Irene Chaves-Coira were awarded with best poster presentation grant.

Last day of the summit mainly focused on Migraine and Headache, Epilepsy, Neurodegeneration and Multiple Sclerosis with 16 notable speakers.

Throughout the course of this three-day event, the attendees got an exclusive opportunity to network and are involved in inspiring and interesting discussions of scientists and researchers on Neurological disorders. The conference provided exciting opportunity to showcase the modern technologies, the new products in the field of Neurological Disorders and the service of the industry to the global audience.
