Michel Brienzo

Dr. Michel Brienzo is a researcher at São Paulo State University (Unesp), Institute of Bioenergy Research (IPBEN), coordinating the Lab of Biomass Characterization and Conversion - LBCC. Dr. Brienzo is a coordinator at UNESP of the Ph.D. Program in Bioenergy (integrated UNESP-Usp-Unicamp). Dr. Brienzo holds B.Eng in Biochemical with an emphasis in Biotechnology (2006) and a Ph.D. in Science in Applied Microbiology area (2010) from the University of São Paulo (USP). Dr. Brienzo worked as a researcher at the National Institute of Metrology, Quality, and Technology (Inmetro), and had a post-doc position at Stellenbosch University (South Africa). Throughout his scientific research Ph.D., Dr. Brienzo research focused mainly on the biomass chemical and physicochemical properties, polysaccharides extraction, pretreatment and enzymatic hydrolysis for biomass conversion
