4th Neurological Disorders Summit (NDS-2018) organized by United Scientific Group concluded successfully on July 25, 2018, at Four Points by Sheraton, Los Angeles, CA, USA.
We thank all the participants of NDS-2018 for trusting us and contributing to a global platform where important aspects of various neurological disorders were discussed. The conference had been marked by the attendance of young and brilliant research scholars, industry and business delegates from more than 35 countries.
The summit inaugurated on July 23, 2018, by the Organizing Committee Chairmen; Dr. Rajendra Badgaiyan and Dr. Kenneth Blum. The three-day summit brought together an interdisciplinary group of professionals working on neurological disorders which were divided into different sessions; keynote, oral and poster presentations.
Dr. Stephen Grossberg, Boston University, Boston, MA, USA delivered the first keynote lecture on “Brain Dynamics of Normal and Abnormal Learning, Memory, and Cognition with Applications to Alzheimer’s Disease, Amnesia, Autism, and Neglect”. Dr. Grossberg discussed Adaptive Resonance Theory (ART) which is a neural model that explains normal and abnormal brains may learn to categorize and recognize objects and events in a changing world and how learned categories may be stably remembered. It was then followed by a keynote lecture of Dr. Kalpna Gupta (University of Minnesota Medical School, MN, USA) on "Manipulation of the Brain’s Serotonergic System by Diet and Companionship" in which she spoke about Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) and its characterization by neurobehavioral alteration. Dr. John M Baumann, an internationally-recognized inspiring success speaker diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease at the age of 41, encouraged medical personnel to go beyond the clinical role and provide a broader perspective on the effects of Parkinson’s disease. Dr. Jin Jun Luo from Temple University, PA, USA talked about "Mitochondrial Myopathy" in his keynote address.
Day-one continued after lunch with sessions on "Neurological Disorders: Symptomatology, Pathophysiology, and Etiology", "Diagnostics of Neurological Disorders: Neuroimaging, Biomarkers and Laboratory studies”, "Parkinson Disease and other Movement Disorders”, “Neuromuscular Disorders and Peripheral Neuropathies" and "Neurological Disorders: Prevention, Treatment, and Rehabilitation" with 30 speakers presenting their recent research work in their respective areas of research.
Day-2 started with the keynote of Dr. Howard J Federoff (University of California, Irvine, CA, USA) on "Repositioned Drug to Restore Mitochondrial Biogenesis". In his keynote, Dr. Federoff briefed that the bioenergetic compromise is a feature of several neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease (PD). Dr. Rajendra Badgaiyan from Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, NY, USA and Dr. Kenneth Blum from Western University College of Medicine, CA, USA delivered the keynote lectures on “Neurotransmitter Imaging” and “Introducing Precision Behavioral Management (PAM™) of Reward Deficiency Syndrome, the Construct that Underpins All Addictive Behaviors” respectively. A series of interesting talk in different sessions on "Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disorders", "Stroke Management Prevention, Treatment, and Recovery" and "Neurotrauma, Neuroinflammation, and Neuro-immune Disease" kept the audience engaged with discussions. The day ended with the poster presentations with presenters from across the globe. Ms. Vaibhavi Peshattiwar was awarded the best poster presentation award.
Last day of the summit mainly focused on Migraine and Headache, Epilepsy, Neurodegeneration and Multiple Sclerosis with 20 notable speakers.
The attendees got an exclusive opportunity to network and are involved in inspiring and interesting discussions of scientists and researchers on Neurological disorders throughout the course of this three-day event. NDS-2018 provided an exciting opportunity to display the modern technologies, new products in the field of Neurological Disorders and the service of the industry to the worldwide audience.
We are glad to announce the 5th Neurological Disorders Summit which will be scheduled for July 18-20, 2019 in Los Angeles, California, USA.
We look forward to having your active contribution and support for the success of NDS-2019.
